I have been having trouble picking up W-B radio since last week. I never had a problem before, but now no luck. (I am in Mt.top). Any others having a problem? Is a repeater down?

I don't normally monitor them. but summer and leaves of the trees diminish the signals. I am from Mtop also, and the signal has to come over the "mountain" and back down into the "valley" of Mtop. I usually get them, but with a fairly weak signal. PD is coming in fine. I'll let you know about FD today

Thanks Capt. I never thought about the trees and leaves, I am wondering if raising my outdoor antenna would help? Do base units receive better than hand held units? I use a Uniden SC 230 it is however connected to an outdoor antennae (Radio Shack , it is a ground plane design, I do not remember the model)?

Thanks Capt. I never thought about the trees and leaves, I am wondering if raising my outdoor antenna would help? Height always helps, but then you run into needing better coax. Do yo recall what coax you are using and how long it is? How high you have it now? No I use both of those myself. Heard WB fire once yesterday...very weak. I think is is the time of year.
